 First Annual Midcentury Atlanta Home Tour 2023.

The Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria will serve as the host hotel & will be your point of embarkment & your final destination.

Each tour guest will be conveniently shuttled from home to home on charted luxury motor coaches equipped with captains chairs & full service restrooms on board. All guests will board the tour coaches Saturday August 12th between 9:00am to 10:00am.

The Atlanta Marriott Northwest at Galleria is offering discounted parking for non-hotel guests at the rate of $12 per day.

A boxed lunch will be provided to all tour guests & is included in the cost of your ticket.

George Smart, aka Mr. Modernism, is founder and CEO of USModernist, America's largest open digital archive for the preservation of midcentury Modernist residential design. As host of the long-running podcast USModernist Radio, named by DWELL as the #2 architecture and design podcast, George informs, entertains, and inspires audiences to engage preservation in their own neighborhoods. With bulldozers continuing to destroy mid-century Modernist houses, these livable works of art continue to be threatened by rising land prices and disinterested heirs. Preservation is urgent, but you can’t save something if you don’t know where it is and why it is important. To address this, USModernist’s intrepid team of nonprofit staff and volunteers document over 120 major 20th century architects and over 20,000 Modernist houses. In addition, the USModernist Library has scanned over 4.1 million pages of architecture magazines going back over 130 years, winning 18 honors for leadership in historic preservation. George will share the story of USModernist and how anyone can start saving the houses we all love.
